New micro four-thirds Panasonic causes drool, consternation
We saw this thing a little while ago and now it is real. The Panasonic DMC-GF1 is a micro four-thirds camera with 12-megapixel sensor, 1080p video recording, and nice image quality. After seeing the lackluster EP1 I am worried the M4/3 world might be too hard to handle, even for DSLR lovers. However, I’m willing to give this old girl a try.

Dear EuropeÖ Please give me QWERTY and not QWERTZ
Iäm in Berlin right now tzping on a kezboard that is about to make me go bonkers. It is apparentlz a QWERTZ kezboard and the Z and Y are mixed up and all of the punctuation is a total freakout. While Iäm sure this is important for some strange SerboßAustrioßHungarian language like Flemish, I assure zou itäs a huge pain in the rear.

Nokia Ovi Lifecasting for Facebook: Here’s How it Works
In our article about Nokia’s latest mobile phone lineup we’ve mentioned a new feature called Ovi Lifecasting, which lets you update FacebookFacebook directly from your Nokia phone. Here are a couple more details on how exactly it works. First of all, the only devices that currently support the feature are Nokia N97 and the new Nokia N97 Mini. You’ll also need the latest beta version of Ovi Maps and the Ovi Lifecasting widget. Once you sign in with your Nokia account and connect with your Facebook profile, you can change your Facebook status, together with photos, while the N97 will use GPS to detect where you are and add that to your updates. Here are the full instructions from Nokia’s Beta Labs:

Russian President Launches YouTube Channel
Barack Obama has it, Nicolas Sarkozy has it, Pope Benedict XVI has it, and now Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has one: his very own YouTubeYouTube channel. The channel is located over at www.youtube.com/kremlin, and its main purpose is to reach out to youth. Medvedev covers a wide array of topics: the first video on the site addresses schoolchildren and talks about good neighborly ties, while in the latest Medvedev talks about the Second World War and its outcome.

Nokia X6 is Stunningly Beautiful, Facebook Ready
Finnish mobile giant Nokia has introduced several new mobile devices at the Nokia World conference held in Stuttgart, Germany. Judging by its amazing design, Nokia X6 is the highlight of the lot: it will definitely make heads turn, but it’s quite powerful when it comes to features, too. By specifications, it seems to be a successor to the music-oriented Nokia 5800: it also has a 3.2” resistive touchscreen, and other features include a 5-megapixel camera, 32 GB of storage, and 35 hours of music playback. It’s all nice and dandy, but what really caught our eye in the official press release is Nokia’s commitment to bring social networking and media to their smartphones. From the PR:

Original Zunes go towards the light
I think we all knew it was coming. After all, the new interface, while aesthetically similar to the old Zune UI, is totally incompatible with the old hardware. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, unfortunately — though I would add, that doesn’t mean you have to throw away the dog. Click on through for a great Zune-in-heaven photoshop. It’s the subtle glow that sells it.

People of Walmart: Viral Blog Showcases Retailer’s Clientele
Attention Walmart shoppers: you’re the subject of a new blog that has gone highly viral. The site People of Walmart is seemingly the latest user-submitted photo blog to take off, as Walmart shoppers around the country are sending in photos of other customers with absurd outfits, outdated haircuts, or other oddities befitting of common stereotypes about the retail chain’s clientele. Yesterday, the site was the subject of a feature in Time, which appears to have sent it far more traffic than it can handle, as People of Walmart has been up and down since we discovered it. But Google’s cache captures some of the content you can expect to see there:
